10.07.1990 அன்று மேஜர் காந்தரூபன், கப்டன் வினோத்,கப்டன் கொலின்ஸ் ஆகியோர் வல்வெட்டித்துறைக் கடலில் சிறிலங்காவின் கடற்படைக் கப்பல் 'எடித்தாரா' மீது முதலாவது கடற்கரும்புலித்தாக்குதலை செய்து கடற்கரும்புலித் தாக்குதலை ஆரம்பித்து வைத்தார்கள்
